How do I install my Samsung Toner Cartridge?

When your Samsung toner printer indicates empty toner cartridge, you should install a new cartridge. Don’t change the cartridge when the printer indicates the cartridge is low on toner because you may still be able to print.

Make sure you have the correct toner cartridge. That is, check you’ve got the right model cartridge for you Samsung printer. Each cartridge is designed for a specific laser printer. You can find the type of cartridge on your printer machine.

Before changing your Samsung toner cartridge turn off your Samsung. Printer and open the machine top and front covers. Pull the drum unit assembly and press down the lock lever to remove the empty toner cartridge. To take out the cartridge, pull it upwards from the machine. When you do this, the cartridge should come out without making too much effort.

Now prepare the new toner cartridge for installation. Remove the cartridge from its packaging and rock it gently for a few seconds to distribute the toner inside it. Remember not to leave the cartridge exposed to light for too long after you have taken it out of its packaging.

Remove the sealing tape from your Samsung printer cartridge before installing it. If you don’t, this tape will obstruct the passage of toner.

Install the new Samsung toner cartridge into your Samsung laser printer. To do this, follow the indications in your printer. These instructions will allow you to align the toner cartridge properly. You should be able to do this without making too much effort. I haven’t used my printer for a while and the cartridge is not empty and still not printing, should I change the cartridge?

If the toner cartridge isn’t empty there is no need to install a new one. All you have to do is to redistribute the toner in the cartridge. When a cartridge has been seated for too long, the toner can get a thicker consistence and the printer may not print. To solve this, open the printer and remove the Samsung toner cartridge. Hold your cartridge with a piece of paper or cloth so that it is not directly exposed to light. Remember not to expose the toner cartridge to light for too long. Finally, rock the cartridge from side to side very gently.

I got a LOW TONER message, what should I do?

Check if you have removed the sealing tape from your Samsung toner cartridge.

Make sure you have installed the correct model toner cartridge.

Remove carefully the cartridge from the laser machine and rock it gently to redistribute the toner in the cartridge. Reinstall the cartridge and print a test page.

If the problem is not solved after you have tried redistributing the toner, you will have to replace the cartridge.

If after replacing the toner cartridge you still get the low toner message, there is a problem with your laser machine. Contact the Samsung for assistance. If your Samsung printer is not the problem, you may have installed the wrong cartridge. Check the laser printer to see the name of the model cartridge you need. Remember that there is a model cartridge for each particular printer. Installing the wrong cartridge can lead to printer damage and repairing can be expensive.

Is there any way to make my toner cartridge last as long as possible?

Yes. All you have to do is to be careful. Remove your Samsung toner cartridge from your package only when it’s needed. Samsung toner cartridge packaging was specially designed to protect the cartridge. They are moisture proof bags that will protect the cartridge from damaging as long as the package remains closed. The shelf life of a close Samsung toner cartridge is more than 2 years. Once you have opened the package, the life of the cartridge will be around 5-6 months.

Other useful advices:

Do not expose your Samsung toner cartridge to light for too long.

Do not keep your cartridge in humid places.

Adjust image intensity so as to reduce toner consumption.

Don’t change your toner cartridge as soon as you get a low toner message. You may still be able to print a few hundred pages.

In case you got a low message, remove the cartridge from your printer carefully. Cover it with a paper towel or cloth so that is not directly exposed to light. Rock your Samsung printer cartridge gently from side to side to redistribute the toner inside it. By no means you should shake the cartridge!
